'Skyfall' Plot Details Revealed: 007's Loyalty to M Tested .: || 1/24/2012 - 7:25 AM ||
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond, and though details of his next adventure, "Skyfall," are being kept closely under wraps, Sony did reveal a few tantalizing clues in an official plot summary released this week.
"In 'Skyfall,' Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her," the summary reads. "As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost."
Sounds like Dench will have more to do this go-round than simply deliver ultimatums to her skirt-chasing protege.

'Skyfall's Bérénice Marlohe 'used IMDb to land James Bond role' .: || 1/24/2012 - 7:15 AM ||
"It's very difficult in France to get access to castings when you don't have any relationships," she told Empire.
"I totally heard by chance that they were doing the casting for a James Bond movie, and that one of the auditions was taking place in Paris. So I tried myself to contact every name involved in the movie I could possibly find on the IMDb!
"I finally managed to get the first audition in Paris, then I did the second in London with Sam Mendes, and then the third was with Sam and Daniel Craig, again in London. And then I was cast!"

Naomie Harris: I make a bad Bond girl .: || 1/24/2012 - 7:10 AM ||
The 35-year-old actress - who portrays field agent Eve in new 007 movie 'Skyfall' - explained she wouldn't be able to play a one-dimensional action woman, and is thrilled to be able to become a "new kind of Bond girl".
She said: "To be honest, I don't think I'd be very good at such a role. What drew me to this was the opportunity to play a new kind of Bond Girl.
"It's not just the women who have changed. James Bond himself has changed and Daniel Craig has been a very big part of that. He's brought depth and humanity to the role. He's so layered in a way that other Bonds just weren't, because nothing seemed to touch them. Daniel's Bond is very much touched by his relationships.
"In 2012, there's a need to have female characters who are equal to that. Otherwise it would be totally imbalanced and no one would care about the relationships Bond has. I love the way it's developed in that way.

Daniel Craig Talks Bond .: || 12/13/2011 - 3:45 PM ||
"The deciding factor for doing “Casino Royale”, even though I was umming and aahhing, going [puts on moody voice] “I don’t know if I want to do it”, was that they showed me the script and I thought: Fuck, I’ve got to do this. And I think this one is better. I really do. It’s a totally original story. I read it and it just works as a story. It sounds like a simplistic thing to say, but you read it and you go: “Oh yeah, I get that, yeah, and oh, yes, yes, okay,” and that’s unusual.’
On “Quantum”, we were fucked. We had the bare bones of a script and then there was a writers’ strike and there was nothing we could do. We couldn’t employ a writer to finish it. I say to myself, “Never again”, but who knows? There was me trying to rewrite scenes – and a writer I am not.’

Ben Whishaw cast as Q in Skyfall .: || 12/13/2011 - 3:39 PM ||
The 31-year-old actor Ben Whishaw will be the youngest and most "serious" Q yet in the new James Bond film Skyfall

A source told The Sun Whishaw would be "very different" to his predecessors. "He'll be far more serious, as is the trend with the new films."
James Bond returns with the launch of the 23rd instalment in the famous film franchise, and aims to bounce back after a studio bankruptcy put production on hold for months and the last movie earned mixed reviews.
Sony Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp, will distribute the film, which is set to hit British cinemas on Oct 26, 2012 and US cinemas on Nov 9.

Sean Connery has been voted the nation’s favourite James Bond almost fifty years after starring in his first 007 film, in research released today to mark the launch of the new GoldenEye 007: Reloaded video game. Nearly one third (31%) of the 2,000 people surveyed named Connery their super spy, but it seems relative newcomer Daniel Craig is hot on the heels to succeed the suave Scot, securing second place with a 20% share of the vote with third place going to Pierce Brosnan (17%).
Craig may only have two Bond films under his belt, versus Connery’s six titles, but with Casino Royale, the first film to see Craig take on the iconic role, coming in as fan’s favourite for one in six (17%) the English actor is further cementing his potential as the number one agent with a ‘Licence to Kill’

Director Sam Mendes met with 100 journalists at a London press launch for the flick to offer some details about the secretive production. Still, fans looking for some more details to chew on should be happy with the tidbits Mendes let slip today.

‘Bond 23’ screenwriter hints that the villain is Blofeld .: || 10/18/2011 - 7:13 AM ||
Daniel Craig will return as James Bond once more in ‘Bond 23’, getting back into character for director Sam Mendes. This week, we’ve had our first hint about who the villain could be this time around, and it’s a very familiar name.
Screenwriter John Logan appeared at a BAFTA talk earlier this week, and hinted that iconic bad guy Ernst Stavro Blofeld would be the antagonist this time around. He was last played by Max Von Sydow in ‘Never Say Never Again’ nearly three decades ago.
There have been rumours in the past that Blofeld would end up as Bond 23’s villain, with Martin Sheen at one point reportedly attached to the role. Javier Bardem has since confirmed to play the bad guy, so could he be the new incarnation of Blofeld?
WhatCulture! reports that an audience member reminded Logan of a quote he’d said a decade ago, that; “in his opinion, Bond should always fight Blofeld”. After being pressed, Logan “gave a wry smile and said ‘Bond should always fight Blofeld’.”

Sean Connery will never star in a film again, says Michael Caine .: || 10/18/2011 - 7:10 AM ||
Sir Sean Connery, who turned 81 on Thursday, will never return to the big screen, according to his friend, Sir Michael Caine.
“I phoned him the other day, but we never see each other because he doesn’t move around a lot now,” Caine says. “He won’t make another film now. I just asked him. He said, 'No, I’ll never do it.’ ”
Connery’s final film was The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in 2003. Last year, Caine said: “The movie business retired him because he didn’t want to play small parts about old men and they weren’t offering him any young parts in romantic leads.”

Bond film has Cape Town shaken and stirred .: || 10/18/2011 - 7:05 AM ||
Cape Town's film commission is shaken and stirred with excitement about the increasingly likely possibility of the new James Bond movie being filmed in the city.
Cape Town Film Commission CEO Denis Lillie said rumours about the spy franchise being shot in the city had been around for some time.
“We have been publicly lobbying the Bond production company,” Lillie said.
“There has been no official announcement yet, but there has also been no denial.”
Bond 23 was due to be shot in India, but railway authorities in the country have not given permission for the film’s producers to block tracks in Ahmedabad and Goa for an action sequence.
Take One Productions in India suggested, should the difficulties not be resolved, filming would take place in Cape Town.

Hugh Jackman could be handed a licence to kill, with the Australian actor hinting at a future role as 007.
In London for the making of his new film Les Miserables, Jackman admitted he had been approached in the past to become British spy, James Bond, the Sunday Express newspaper reported.
"I got a call from my agent saying 'there's some possible interest in you for Bond, are you interested?'," Jackman said.
"At the time I wasn't. I was about to shoot X-Men 2 and Wolverine had become this thing in my life. But I think every male at some point thinks about playing Bond. So it was not right then but it may be right if it comes back."
